Even before SARS-CoV2 set out to change our world, a variety of trends toward a much more digital world of work were evident. But in March, many companies had to make emergency adjustments to the new conditions. What was heralded as an epochal shift is likely to become the much-heralded New Normal. At the same time, many employers realized that their employees live and breathe productivity and innovation, even in the home office.

There is unlikely to be a complete return to the “old” world. We are all heading toward a hybrid work world where presence and remote coexist. Employees and employers have recognized the benefits and want to retain them. But it’s not that simple: corporate management and employee leadership must be brought into the digital space and optimized for it.
