Study on data supply in the insurance industry

Reliable and up-to-date data is crucial when advising insurance customers. But data quality often leaves much to be desired. This is the conclusion reached by ajco solutions and zeitsprung in their joint study on “Data Supply between Insurance and Financial Services Sales”.

The survey of nearly 300 brokers and financial advisors provides the insurance industry with insightful insights into the status quo of data availability as well as future challenges.

Customer satisfaction is dependent on data quality

When asked about the relevance of insurance data for customer service, there is great unanimity among the 294 study participants: 96 percent are convinced of the importance of data for their business; this is particularly true for health insurance, occupational disability insurance and in the property business. Nevertheless, the majority of the consultants and brokers surveyed were only relatively satisfied with the quality and timeliness of the data they receive from insurance companies; on a scale of 1 to 6, the average rating was 3. This means that there is still significant potential for insurance companies to optimize the provision of data.

This plays a crucial role because, according to the vast majority of study participants, data quality and timeliness have a direct impact on customer satisfaction. For this reason, almost half of the respondents consider the reliability of the data provided in any case when selecting a product, and for a further 37 percent this is at least sometimes the case. For around 80 percent of respondents, insufficient data quality even leads them to consider changing their product coverage.

Consileon advises along the entire capital market value chain

In the capital market, the value chain for securities and derivatives transactions extends over several stages. It starts with the issuance of securities and the provision of information prior to the conclusion of the transaction (pre-trading). This is followed by trading, e.g. via a marketplace, and the clearing of securities and derivatives (trading and clearing). After the actual conclusion of the transaction, post-trading follows with the settlement and custody of financial instruments.

Consileon is an expert in European market infrastructure and supports its customers along the entire capital market value chain.

Even an IT consulting company can get involved in nature conservation!

Have you noticed that there are fewer bees this year? More than every fifth colony did not survive the winter 2021 /2022. On the one hand, this is due to the bad weather last year. On the other hand, it has been known for years that insect populations are declining nationwide – due to the increased use of pesticides in agriculture as well as a lack of food sources for the small animals.

Environmental protection and FIANTEC – how do they fit together?

At Consileon, we want to shape the future, and that includes taking responsibility for our environment. That’s why, even before Covid, we made an effort to avoid flights in order to reduce our ecological footprint. We are also involved in sustainability projects such as atmosfair.
The fact that we are passionate about bees and want to help protect them is thanks to two colleagues at our subsidiary FIANTEC, which offers software for commission accounting and consulting. Stefan Plagemann, head of sales at FIANTEC, is involved in beekeeping in his spare time. What started a few years ago as a gimmick with one colony of bees has now developed into a weekend-filling activity with 20 colonies.
His FIANTEC colleague Paul Klemke, Head of Customer Service and Support, runs a farm with his father in Brandenburg, east of Berlin. Agricultural policy stipulates that farmers must leave five percent (as much as 10 percent since 2022) of arable land fallow to allow the soil to recover from demanding cultivation. To give the unused fields a purpose, Paul Klemke and his father sow annual flower mixtures there, which are plowed under again in the fall and serve as fertilizer for the soil.

Lünendonk lists 2022

Great joy at Consileon! The Karlsruhe-based consulting company is once again among the 20 leading medium-sized IT consulting and system integration companies in Germany.

The Lünendonk lists are published annually and are free of charge. They record the service companies with the highest revenues in various categories. For the fourth time, Consileon is among the largest providers of IT consulting services that have their headquarters or the majority of their share capital in Germany and generate total revenues of up to €500 million. Consileon was also among the top 20 in 2018, 2019 and 2020.

Consileon supports the campaign Trösteteddys once again

For the second time, Consileon has donated 100 teddy bears to the Karlsruhe Children’s Hospital. Tobias Leibach, Consileon’s Marketing Manager, handed over the fluffy donation in kind worth 1,596 euros on June 14, 2022. “When children have to go to hospital, they often suffer from pain, fear and loneliness,” says Tobias Leibach. “The Consileon consulting house has been specifically committed to helping needy children and young people for years. That’s why we were also immediately enthusiastic about the “Trösteteddys” campaign run by Kinderhilfe Diekholzen. As in 2021, we would like to give 100 sick children a little joy again this year.”

Encouragers for small patients

The cuddly friends make an important contribution to recovery. They give the children comfort and a sparkle in their eyes and accompany them during examinations and treatments. In this way, the teddy bears also support the nursing staff, whose work has been made more difficult by Covid in the last two years. Kinderhilfe Diekholzen supplies children’s hospitals, children’s homes, children’s hospices and rescue services throughout Germany with donated comfort teddies. These are approx. 30 cm tall, suitable for children, machine-washable, CE-tested and free of harmful substances. For hygienic reasons, they are individually wrapped in foil.

Targeted commitment for children in need

With this fundraising campaign, the Consileon Group is continuing its long-standing support for various regional, nationwide and international initiatives for children in emergency situations. “We have once again significantly expanded our commitment to social aid projects since the beginning of the Corona crisis,” says Consileon founder and CEO Dr. Joachim Schü. “As part of our corporate responsibility, we would like to help above all needy children who have been hit hard by crises and strokes of fate.”

” Anyone who doesn’t take action now risks millions in damages,” says cyber security expert Jan Oetting in an interview. Why companies with Russian business connections should be particularly vigilant and how you can determine whether your own company’s cyber protection is sufficient, you can read in this article.

Since the start of the Ukraine war, the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) has been monitoring activities in cyberspace even more critically than before. In any case, cybercrime has increased in recent years, according to the latest statistics from the Federal Criminal Police Office. However, the situation in Ukraine has added a new threat: a war that is being waged not only on the streets and fields, but also on a cyber level.
The concerns are primarily directed at the so-called critical infrastructure in Germany, which has since been under careful observation and intensively protected. But other companies, especially smaller and medium-sized ones, receive less attention from cyber security experts and repeatedly fall victim to cyber attacks. Recently, hackers even managed to hit a global corporation, tractor manufacturer Fendt in Allgäu, Germany. Operations there were paralyzed for days, and the damage ran into the hundreds of thousands.

Consileon sponsors the 15th anniversary celebration of HCF Healthcare Frauen e.V.

About 75 percent of all healthcare workers are women. Just think for a moment of all the female doctors, therapists, pharmacists and nurses… Overall, the health sector is presented by a predominantly female face.
But this is not yet reflected in the management positions. Here, the proportion of women is just 20 percent. “The healthcare industry is unfortunately a particularly conservative field with old structures,” says Suanne Jurasovic of healthcare consultancy Lüdke + Döbele. “That’s why it’s so important to create networks for women so they can exchange ideas and push each other forward.”

Women’s network with digitization expertise

For this reason, an association was founded 15 years ago to promote networking and young female professionals in the healthcare sector: HCF Healthcare Frauen e. V. Among its current membership of around 160, there are quite a few high-caliber female top managers. The healthcare women have made a name for themselves with both their mentoring program and their digitization skills. They describe their mission like this: We bring women into leadership and empower them. We promote diversity in leadership. We shape healthy transformation in healthcare.

Women should be bolder in planning their careers

Susanne Jurasovic has been a member and mentor at HCF for six years. As founder and managing director of Lüdke + Döbele (a consulting company of the Consileon Group), she brings many years of management experience and profound healthcare industry knowledge. “We are committed to heterogeneous management levels. It is diversity that brings the greatest success,” she explains. “As an HCF mentor, I support young healthcare executives. I wish women would become more courageous when it comes to careers.”

Consileon supports HCF Healthcare women

This year’s HCF summer party is not just about a nice come-together. On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the association, an extra exciting program will be offered to all interested parties on June 20 and 21 in Berlin. Well-known decision-makers from politics, business and science will discuss current industry topics. And in the evening there will be a party with dinner, DJ and prominent guests.

Consileon Business Consultancy is proud to be this year’s sponsor of the HCF Summer Party. Diversity, Healthcare, Future Work and Business Transformation are topics Consileon also identifies with.

Every year, the Consileon Group balances the carbon dioxide emissions of its work. The largest items in this balance are the electricity and gas consumption of our offices as well as our employees’ commutes and business trips by car, bus, train or plane.

Climate change is a major concern for us, both professionally and privately. Thanks to the attentiveness and flexibility of our colleagues, our ecological footprint has been declining for years despite steady company growth – not only per capita, but also overall.

Our CO2 emissions were particularly low in 2020 because we worked predominantly in a home office during the first massive Corona wave. As expected, this resulted in a sharp drop in the number of business-related trips to and from work by all modes of transport.

In absolute terms, our CO2 emissions fell by two-thirds compared with 2019 – from a total of 503.5 metric tons to 168.7. Per capita, they were around 42 percent of the previous year’s figure, or 0.88 metric tons instead of 2.08.

Why do we go to all this trouble? To neutralize our CO2 emissions, we support active climate protection projects. We transfer the compensation amount to the non-profit atmosfair GmbH, a leading provider of such models.

In the course of a public sector offensive, Consileon AT has participated in various public tenders since fall 2020 and won framework contracts with a total volume of EUR 433 million in 2021 alone.

Specifically, these include:

In order to be able to win these tenders, we have formed consortia with well-known, international consulting firms, such as Sopra Steria SE, NTT Data or Senacor AG.

Consileon was always the lead general contractor in these tenders, and the above-mentioned tender partners were our subcontractors.

Most recently, we participated – in a constellation as described above – in a BBG tender for IT services 2022, with a volume of EUR 778 million, which we submitted in February 2022. Here, too, we believe we have a good chance of winning some of the lots submitted. We expect the result in the fall of 2022.

In February 2022, we also submitted our offer to conclude a further framework agreement with BRZ GmbH on the subject of “IT project management, IT product development/support and IT modernization for financial administration”. This framework agreement has a volume of EUR 481 million and a term of 4 years (+2-year option).

Likewise, 3 weeks ago we handed in our elaborated qualification documents for a tender of EVN AG (energy), which is about the award of 32,000 hours/year for the next 6 years in the field of “test resources”. We hope to be able to score here as well!

In our opinion, this public sector offensive is a promising basis for Consileon’s sustainable and long-term growth in this segment.

Consileon is once again one of the “Best Consultants” in Germany

Who accompanies companies competently and reliably through times of crisis? Who helps with the challenges of digital transformation? Every year, the business magazine brand eins selects the “Best Management Consultants” in Germany. Since 2015, we at Consileon have been among the top consulting firms. This year, our performance in the “Banks” sector and in the “Change Management” consulting field was honored.

“For the eighth time, we were able to convince with our commitment, innovative strength and know-how,” says Consileon Managing Director Dr. Joachim Schü. “I am very pleased about the trust and recognition from colleagues and clients.”

This is how the rating comes about

brand eins and the statistics portal Statista surveyed more than 8,205 partners and principals (2,325 of whom completed the questionnaire) as well as 205 executives from DAX-listed companies and 1,300 from other companies. The management consultants themselves had to indicate which colleagues they would recommend, although self-referrals were of course excluded. The clients surveyed then assessed the consulting service providers on the basis of their own experience.

The result: 308 companies and 10 consultant networks made it onto this year’s list of the best and can call themselves “Beste Berater 2022”. These come from a total of 16 industries and 19 fields of work.

In addition to Consileon, syracom AG and ajco solutions GmbH, both members of the Consileon Group, also won the coveted award for the second time.
