Jens Viernow, Adviser to the Board
Jens Viernow began his career serving an apprenticeship at Kreissparkasse Harburg, a local savings bank, before he went to polytechnic to graduate in savings bank administration. Later on, Viernow was Verbandsoberrevisor (chief auditor) of the Savings Bank Association of Lower Saxony.
From 1978, he headed the auditing department of Sparkasse Hanover. In 1991, Viernow was appointed to the board, where his responsibilities shifted from private banking through organization to information technology and others over the years. Besides, he lectured at educational institutions and industry events.
Already retired, but not tired yet, he assumed the position of managing director of the “1822 direkt” online bank from mid-2006 to late 2007.
